A peaceful hideaway with stunning views in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty!

West Leas Farm is ideally situated for exploring many of Yorkshire’s most cherished attractions. Visitors will encounter rolling green fields surrounding pretty market towns with cobbled squares, sheep and sheepdogs busily at work, lively sheep fairs, big skies and sweeping views, as well as waterfalls, caves and rugged hillsides. For those wishing to venture further afield, the dramatic landscape of the North York Moors and the beautiful Yorkshire Coast are also within reach.

The nearby villages of Kirkby Malzeard and Galphay, with Ripon just 6 miles away, offer a range of local amenities. Kirkby Malzeard has a newsagent, butcher, village shop, chip shop, pub, doctor’s surgery and a small garage. Galphay is home to a charming and popular pub, dog friendly and complete with log fires and a sheltered garden terrace, serving excellent food.

Footpaths lead directly from the farm to both villages, with plenty of delightful routes to explore, including bridleways and green lanes. A map of the farm is provided, with footpaths clearly marked for guests’ enjoyment.

Each of the six cottages has its own private patio and a fully enclosed, dog-proof garden. West Leas Farm is both dog- and child-friendly, and with footpaths starting right from the property, there are many safe and scenic local walks to enjoy. Every cottage’s private garden leads into a larger shared garden, which in turn has two gates providing access to a field.

The cottages can accommodate group bookings of up to 14 guests plus infants or young children when rented together, making them ideal for family gatherings.

All cottages can accommodate a Z-bed or cot. Granary features a chair Z-bed in the bedroom suitable for a child, while Milkhouse has a leather single chair bed in the lounge.

Guests may unload their luggage directly outside the cottages, with designated parking available just 25 metres away. The farm lane is private and quiet, used only by those staying on the property, making it perfect for a peaceful morning or evening stroll.

For those staying in one of the self-catering cottages, a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 28 days before arrival.
